Cancer Screening Program
Many First Nations, Inuit and Métis people often do not have regular or timely access to a primary health care provider in their First Nations communities, so it is necessary to look at different ways to provide organized cancer screening options to them.
The Wequedong Lodge Cancer Screening Program is available to provide organized cancer screening services for breast, colorectal and cervical cancer screening to eligible First Nations, Inuit and Métis adults during their stay at Wequedong lodge, while they are here in Thunder Bay to see health care specialists for other health needs.
Cancer screening is done when you are healthy. Tests are done to look for cancer before you have symptoms.
The screening liaison is available Monday to Wednesday to discuss cancer screening.
